Town of Gold Rush

Town of Gold Rush is a themed area in Dreamworld Park featuring reconstructed streets and buildings from a 19th century Australian mining settlement. The area includes multiple rides and is designed to show what daily life was like in a mining camp.

The area opened in 1986 as Gold Rush Country and received a new name along with major renovations in 2011 that introduced new attractions. These changes reflected growing interest in more authentically designed themed lands.

The area shows how gold discoveries changed people's lives and what kinds of settlements formed when fortune seekers came from different regions. You see in the buildings and streets how people lived and worked during that period.

Steel Taipan is a triple-launch roller coaster ride that ranks among the fastest attractions in Australian theme parks. The name references one of Australia's most dangerous snake species, matching the wild nature of the ride.
