Shockwave, Disk'O amusement ride in Queensland, Australia

Shockwave is a Zamperla Disk'O Coaster in the Ocean Parade area of Dreamworld on the Gold Coast, Queensland. Riders sit on an orange circular platform called the discovery vessel, with 24 outward-facing seats, which runs back and forth along a 63-metre sea green halfpipe track with a small hill in the middle. The platform spins at 12 revolutions per minute while reaching 54 km/h, and the ride is themed as a hydro-energy plant.

Shockwave opened at Dreamworld on 25 June 2011, timed to the local school holidays. Ardent Leisure first signalled two new rides in its February 2011 outlook; construction between Ocean Parade and Nickelodeon Central began days after the 7 April 2011 announcement of a family thrill ride. Dreamworld confirmed the Zamperla Disk'O Coaster on 18 May 2011, parts arrived by 7 June, and testing ran in the final week before opening.

Shockwave is themed as a hydro-energy plant, and its orange circular platform is called the discovery vessel. The 24 seats face outward, so riders sit on the outside edge as the platform spins at 12 revolutions per minute along the sea-green halfpipe track.

Riders must be at least 120 centimeters tall to board, and loose items should be secured or left behind. Visiting during quieter times of day helps avoid long queues and makes the experience more enjoyable.
