Mount Bona

Mount Bona is a stratovolcano in the Saint Elias Mountains that rises to about 16,400 feet. Its slopes are covered by large icefields and glaciers that make the terrain steep and difficult to cross.

Prince Luigi Amedeo named the mountain in 1897 after his racing yacht while climbing nearby Mount Saint Elias. This naming connected the peak to Italian exploration history in the region.
