Rincón de Guayabitos

Rincón de Guayabitos is a coastal settlement along the Riviera Nayarit with a wide sandy beach that slopes gently into warm waters. The area offers lodging from simple guesthouses to resort complexes, all providing direct access to the water and a range of water sports activities.

The settlement began as a fishing harbor and was later discovered by travelers seeking mild weather and calm waters. Development from a small village into a vacation spot happened gradually over decades, with the original fishing character partially preserved today.

The fishing village keeps its authentic character, where local fishermen still mend their nets daily and sell their catch along the shore. Waterfront restaurants prepare the fresh seafood using traditional recipes that reflect generations of coastal Mexican cooking traditions.

The best time to visit is during the drier months from November through April, when the weather stays stable. The area is easy to explore on foot, and local buses and taxis are readily available if you want to venture to nearby areas.

Two small islands, El Coral and El Cangrejo, sit close enough to be reached from shore and offer good snorkeling spots. Many visitors overlook these locations and focus only on the main beach.
