Yelapa Beach, Beach in Cabo Corrientes, Mexico.

Yelapa Beach is a coastal stretch in a small cove south of Puerto Vallarta, surrounded by mountains and palm trees along light-colored sand. The waters show shades of green and blue, and the village buildings sit right at the waterline where locals and visitors mix.

The name comes from the Purepecha indigenous language and means 'where waters come together or form a pond'. The area remained a quiet fishing settlement on the remote coast for generations.

Artists and craftspeople have settled here over time, bringing creative energy that shapes daily life in the village. Fishing traditions and artistic pursuits coexist naturally along the shore.

Boats depart regularly from Puerto Vallarta's Los Muertos Pier, and this water route is the only way to reach the village. Arriving early helps secure a spot and allows time to plan your return ride home.

The village operates without regular electricity supply and has no vehicle roads, which sets it apart from nearby coastal tourist spots. This separation from modern conveniences shapes the entire rhythm of the day and creates an immediate sense of difference when you arrive.
