Plaza de toros Alberto Balderas

Plaza de toros Alberto Balderas is a bullring in Autlán de Navarro with seating capacity of around 6,200 spectators. The building features a clock tower that resembles the design of the municipal presidency building in town.

The land was purchased in 1939, with the first bullfights taking place in the 1940s when Alberto Balderas and Chucho Solórzano opened the venue. This marked the beginning of the arena's role as a local center for the sport.

The arena plays a central role in the annual Carnival of Autlán, when four bullfights and one novillada take place during the five days leading up to Ash Wednesday. These events are key traditions that draw crowds and shape the festival's identity.

The venue has dedicated sections for livestock owners and business people, along with medical services on-site. A chapel is also available to serve visitors during events.

This arena is part of a network of seven Mexican bullrings all named after Alberto Balderas, scattered across different states including Veracruz and Durango. This distribution reflects how influential this name became in Mexican bullfighting circles.
