Oceanwide Plaza III, Unfinished skyscraper in South Park, Los Angeles, United States.
Oceanwide Plaza III is a 162-meter-tall, 40-story office tower located in South Park, standing directly across from Crypto.com Arena and the Los Angeles Convention Center. The building forms part of a planned three-tower development complex that would have reshaped the downtown skyline.
The site was previously a parking lot until Oceanwide Plaza LLC acquired it in 2013 to develop this major downtown project. Construction halted in 2019 when the developer faced financial difficulties that prevented completion.
The unfinished building attracted street artists who covered multiple floors with murals, turning the structure into an open-air gallery that reflects the creative energy of the neighborhood.
The tower is visible from the street and easily viewed from the south side of downtown, though the structure remains closed to public entry. The best view is from across the street near Crypto.com Arena, where you can see the full height and scale.
Construction stopped in 2019 and left the building in an unusual state where artists claimed it as an open canvas, creating something rarely seen in modern downtown developments. By 2024 the property entered bankruptcy proceedings, adding another layer to its remarkable story.
