Peacock Theater, Entertainment venue in Downtown Los Angeles, United States
The Peacock Theater is a theater and music hall in downtown Los Angeles. The stage measures roughly 14,000 square feet and the hall seats around 7,100 people across several levels.
The building opened on October 18, 2007, with performances by the Eagles and the Dixie Chicks after just over two years of construction. Work had begun in September 2005 and was part of the L.A. Live complex development.
Since 2008, the hall has regularly hosted major television galas including the Emmy Awards and the American Music Awards. These events draw large audiences each time and shape cultural life in the downtown area.
Access is directly through several parking structures in the L.A. Live complex and through nearby metro stations for public transport. The entrances are on the ground floor and allow quick orientation through the corridors.
During the 2028 Olympics, the space will be converted into a weightlifting competition venue. In 2025, it will also host the NHL Entry Draft, where new talents are selected for the North American ice hockey league.
