1100 Wilshire, Modern skyscraper in Downtown Los Angeles, United States
The 1100 Wilshire building rises 37 stories high and combines residential units with commercial spaces across its angular glass and steel structure.
Originally constructed in 1985 as an office building, the structure remained largely empty for twenty years until its transformation into condominiums in 2005.
The building demonstrates the evolution of Los Angeles urban development, converting from commercial to residential use to meet changing city demands.
The lower 16 floors function as a parking structure, while the upper levels contain 228 residential units with views of the Los Angeles skyline.
A promotional event in 2014 featured television personality John Walsh parachuting from the building to demonstrate a medical alert system.
