Glassell Park, Residential neighborhood in Northeast Los Angeles, United States.

Glassell Park is a residential neighborhood in Northeast Los Angeles spread across the San Rafael Hills with winding streets and single-family homes. The land follows natural elevation changes that give the area its distinctive hillside character.

The area was originally part of Rancho San Rafael, founded in 1784, before attorney Andrew Glassell later subdivided the land. Residential development in the neighborhood began in the early 1900s.

The neighborhood is shaped by its diverse residents from Latin America, Asia, and elsewhere, which shows in the restaurants and local shops throughout the area. Mexican, Filipino, and Asian food appears in everyday eating habits and gatherings here.

The neighborhood connects to major highways 2 and 5 for travel to downtown and other areas. Walking around is straightforward since streets are public and accessible without special restrictions.

A community garden transformed a former problem location into a gathering space for neighborhood activities. This place shows how residents work together to improve and care for their surroundings.
