The water park extends across 21 acres with multiple swimming pools, water slides, and recreational facilities in the Coachella Valley desert region.
The facility started as Oasis Water Park in 1986, changed to Knott's Soak City in 2002, and became Wet'n'Wild Palm Springs in 2014.
The water park served as a filming location for the opening scenes of the 1987 surf movie North Shore and later skateboarding videos.
The water park underwent major renovations in 2002, including the installation of a liquid chlorine system and the addition of a Rain Fortress play area.
Professional skateboarders recorded a video named High 'N' Dry within the closed park grounds during June 2019, which gained significant online attention.
