Cohen Stadium, Baseball stadium in Northeast El Paso, United States
Cohen Stadium is a baseball facility in Northeast El Paso that opened in 1990 with seating for roughly 9,700 spectators. The venue features a grass playing field, a canopy structure for sun protection, and sits near the Franklin Mountains.
The venue was built in 1990 and replaced the earlier Dudley Field as the home for the El Paso Diablos. After more than 25 years of use, it closed in 2019 when the team left the city.
The stadium is named after brothers Andy and Syd Cohen, who were important figures in El Paso baseball history. Visitors walking through can sense this tie to the city's sports roots.
The location sits on Gateway North Boulevard near the Franklin Mountains and is straightforward to find. The surrounding grounds have developed into an entertainment area with water parks and shops, making it useful for other activities too.
The high elevation and dry air of the city created conditions where baseballs traveled unusually far. Players and fans noticed this advantage right away when they arrived.
