House of Adoration North of Cauca, Bahá'í temple in Villa Rica, Colombia.
The House of Adoration North of Cauca is a Bahá'í temple with a prominent central dome rising about 18 meters high and creating an expansive interior prayer space. The structure accommodates around 250 people and combines religious function with carefully planned architectural proportions.
The temple opened on July 22, 2018, drawing more than 1000 visitors including representatives from the Universal House of Justice. This opening marked an important milestone for the Bahá'í community in the region.
The temple blends local architectural styles with Bahá'í design principles, showing how spiritual values are expressed through the building's form and materials. Visitors can see how the structure reflects the community's connection to both tradition and faith.
Visitors can enter the temple during daytime hours and participate in guided tours to learn about the architecture and Bahá'í teachings. The site is easily accessible, and it is good to wear comfortable shoes and prepare for respectful behavior expected during your visit.
The project emerged from extensive community discussions that began in 2012 and shaped the building's final design and purpose. Local input became central to creating something that belonged to the community rather than being imposed from outside.
