Tibanica

Tibanica is a protected wetland that spreads across neighborhoods in two districts and contains various aquatic plants. The area provides year-round shelter for numerous bird species and other water-dwelling organisms.

The area functioned as a natural water source for indigenous communities before Spanish arrival. Its transformation accelerated during the mid-1900s as urban expansion increased.
