Alfredo Guati Rojo National Watercolor Museum

The Alfredo Guati Rojo National Watercolor Museum is an art collection in Coyoacán devoted entirely to watercolor paintings. Seven rooms display around 300 works arranged to show how the technique has developed from early periods through contemporary times.

This institution was established in 1964 by artist Alfredo Guati Rojo and moved to Coyoacán in 1987 after a natural disaster affected its previous location. The relocation allowed the museum to continue its mission in a new setting and expand its role in the artistic community.
