La Constancia Mexicana, Industrial heritage museum in Puebla, Mexico.

La Constancia Mexicana is a textile mill in Puebla with multiple 19th century buildings that contained production areas, machinery, and worker housing. The site preserves original equipment and shows how a complete factory complex functioned with all its different sections.

The mill was founded in 1835 and was the first textile factory in Mexico to use automatic machinery. This innovation marked the beginning of modern industrialization in Mexico's textile production.

The site reveals worker living conditions through preserved workshops and residential spaces that reflect their daily routines. In these rooms, you can see how tightly production and home life were intertwined for factory employees.

The site is best explored with a guided tour, as it offers explanations of the machinery and work processes. Good walking shoes are recommended since you will be on uneven floors and moving between buildings.

The complex was built on the foundations of the old Santo Domingo Hacienda, blending traditional Mexican architecture with industrial design. This mix of two different time periods is clearly visible in the appearance of the buildings.
