Krause Springs, Natural springs in Spicewood, Texas.

Krause Springs is a natural recreation area near Spicewood with over 30 springs flowing into both man-made pools and open swimming areas connected to Lake Travis. The property spreads across land covered with trees and grassy spaces where visitors can swim, camp, and spend time around the water.

The Krause family acquired this property in the 1950s and has maintained it as a natural recreation area over the decades. Its listing on the National Registry of Historical Sites recognizes the long-standing importance of these springs to the region.

These springs have been a gathering place for local families and friends for decades, serving as a social hub where people come to enjoy time together outdoors. You'll notice groups relaxing and playing in the water, continuing a tradition that feels woven into the everyday life of the area.

The site provides campsites with hookups for RVs as well as basic tent camping areas for overnight stays. Arriving early helps ensure a good spot, especially on warm weekends when the place fills up quickly.

Ancient cypress trees grow along the water's edge, creating natural shade over the swimming areas with their gnarled trunks and sprawling branches. These trees have stood here for centuries, giving the place a timeless quality that sets it apart from typical recreation areas.
