The original structure, built in 1779 by Antonio Gil Y'Barbo, served as a trading post, residence, church, and saloon before its demolition in 1902.
The museum displays exhibits about the El Camino Real de los Tejas, demonstrating how this historic road influenced settlement patterns and economic development.
Museum admission is free, with operating hours from Tuesday through Saturday 10 a.m. to 4 p.m., and Sunday 1 p.m. to 5 p.m., closed on Mondays.
