The Sterne-Hoya House Museum features 1.5-story wood-frame construction on brick piers with a Victorian porch at the entrance in downtown Nacogdoches.
Built in 1830 by merchant Adolphus Sterne, the house served as a meeting place for Texas Revolution leaders including Sam Houston and Davy Crockett.
The museum displays period furnishings, family heirlooms, and artifacts from both the Sterne and Hoya families who occupied the residence over generations.
Visitors can explore the museum Wednesday through Saturday from 10:00 AM to 4:00 PM without admission fees at 211 South Lanana Street.
The property contains one of the first wine cellars constructed in Texas and the room where Sam Houston received Catholic baptism in 1833.
