Built in 1936 for the Texas Centennial Exposition at a cost of 1.2 million dollars, this structure became the most expensive building per square foot in Texas.
The Hall of Heroes displays bronze statues of Texas figures including Sam Houston, while the exterior frieze honors 60 historical personalities of the state.
The Dallas Historical Society manages guided tours from Tuesday to Saturday between 10:00 AM and 5:00 PM, and on Sundays from 1:00 PM to 5:00 PM.
The front doors contain metal designs representing Texas industries, with locally sourced Cordova Cream limestone and European marble adorning the structure.
