The Irving Arts Center is an arts facility in Irving with multiple performance spaces, including Carpenter Hall and the Dupree Theater. The building also houses various galleries dedicated to art exhibitions and cultural programming.

The Irving Arts Center began in the 1980s, when the Irving City Council created a city art board to develop creative ideas for the community. The center itself was completed in the 1990s. In 2007 it became a Smithsonian Affiliate, one of 160 such affiliates nationwide at the time.

The center hosts theatrical productions, dance performances, music concerts, and visual art exhibitions featuring works by local, national, and international artists. Visitors can experience different forms of artistic expression in a single location.

The center sits on a 10-acre site in Irving, with theaters, classrooms, reception halls and a sculpture garden grouped together. Its four galleries are free and open to the public, so a visit can be made without a ticket. Events are staged by eleven independent resident organizations, from the Irving Symphony Orchestra to Lyric Stage, so the program changes often.

The galleries within the facility rotate their exhibitions on a regular basis, allowing visitors to discover new artistic perspectives throughout the year. This changing rotation means that few visits look exactly the same.
