Cathedral of the Nativity of the Blessed Virgin Mary

The Cathedral of the Nativity features a square tower with a four-sided clock, vaulted interior spaces, and Italian pearl marble altars throughout its structure.

Built in 1902 to replace an 1870 church destroyed by fire, this religious building received cathedral status in 1977 when the Diocese of Biloxi formed.

German architect Tomas Bruni integrated numerous architectural elements including arches, naves, and buttresses, while incorporating stained glass windows from Germany.

The cathedral maintains regular mass schedules and welcomes visitors interested in exploring its architectural features during designated visiting hours throughout the week.

The original 1902 clock mechanism in the tower continued its mechanical operation until 1959, when it received electrical components for automated timekeeping.
