Tuscaloosa Amphitheater, Outdoor concert venue in Tuscaloosa, US
The Tuscaloosa Amphitheater is an outdoor performance venue along the Black Warrior River with seating for approximately 7,470 guests. The grounds include multiple performance areas and facilities designed to host music concerts, theatrical events, and other large gatherings throughout the year.
The amphitheater was designed by Davis Architects and opened in April 2011 after construction began in 2009. This project was built to create a modern performance space along the river for the growing arts community.
The venue hosts the annual Celebration on the River, where the Tuscaloosa Symphony Orchestra performs during Independence Day festivities. This event has become a key gathering place where the community comes together to celebrate.
The venue is located near the University of Alabama campus and downtown area with ample parking and food concessions available. Visitors should bring sun protection or rain gear depending on weather conditions, especially for performances held under open skies.
The amphitheater integrates its riverside location directly into the design, making it a place where architecture and nature work together. The river setting provides a backdrop that extends beyond the stage itself.
