Tuscaloosa Amphitheater, Outdoor concert venue in Tuscaloosa, US

The Tuscaloosa Amphitheater, now the Mercedes-Benz Amphitheater, is an open-air venue on 15 acres along the Black Warrior River off Jack Warner Parkway. Its main stage is a broad orange-brown facade around a deep black rectangular opening, facing a flat paved seating area. A separate tan stone-textured building with a low brown roof carries the venue's sign, and brown-roofed kiosks and rows of small trees stand between the structures.

The amphitheater was designed by Davis Architects and opened in April 2011 after construction began in 2009. This project was built to create a modern performance space along the river for the growing arts community.

The venue hosts the annual Celebration on the River, where the Tuscaloosa Symphony Orchestra performs during Independence Day festivities. This event has become a key gathering place where the community comes together to celebrate.

The venue is located near the University of Alabama campus and downtown area with ample parking and food concessions available. Visitors should bring sun protection or rain gear depending on weather conditions, especially for performances held under open skies.

The venue opened in 2011 on a 15-acre site beside the Black Warrior River, next to the Hugh R. Thomas Bridge. Its name changed from Tuscaloosa Amphitheater to Mercedes-Benz Amphitheater at the 2023 season finale. The capacity is 8,410, and the annual free Fourth of July Celebration on the River features the Tuscaloosa Symphony Orchestra.
