Capitol Park, Public park in Tuscaloosa County, US

Capitol Park is a public park in Tuscaloosa County featuring stone foundations and two surviving columns from a former government structure. A central gazebo anchors the grounds and provides a gathering space on the site.

From 1826 to 1846, this location housed Alabama's State Capitol. The government's relocation to Montgomery marked the end of the building's political role and left only architectural remnants behind.

The park grounds feature preserved architectural elements and historical markers that document Alabama's early governmental history through educational displays.

The grounds are open most days, with visiting hours varying by day of the week. It works best to arrive in the morning or early afternoon for the most reliable access and comfortable conditions.

The park's gazebo accommodates up to 200 guests and requires a permit for events, with rental fees of 70 dollars per hour.
