Hamilton Hume, the explorer who discovered the Yass district in 1821, acquired the property in 1839 and resided there until his death in 1873.
The residence contains original furniture including Hamilton Hume's writing table and artifacts that demonstrate early Australian pastoral life in the 19th century.
The property opens from 10 AM to 4 PM on Sundays, with adult admission at $12, concessions at $10, and family tickets at $34.
The grounds feature a rare Picconia tree, a species nearly extinct in its native Canary Islands, standing as a living botanical specimen.
