Mount Root, Border mountain in Saint Elias Mountains, Alaska and British Columbia

Mount Root stands at 3,928 meters elevation, featuring the Margerie Glacier and creating a natural boundary between Alaska and British Columbia.

The International Boundary Commission established Mount Root as Boundary Peak 165 in 1907, marking the border between the United States and Canada.

The mountain bears the name of Elihu Root, a diplomat who resolved territorial disputes between the United States and Canada.
