Tamazula de Gordiano is a municipality in southeastern Jalisco located at approximately 1,400 meters elevation. The territory spans around 1,300 square kilometers with rolling terrain and mixed landscapes.
The name comes from the Nahuatl word tamazullan, rooted in the indigenous past of the region. The settlement developed from these pre-Columbian cultural foundations.
