Los Cabos International Airport, International airport in San José del Cabo, Mexico
Los Cabos International Airport is an airport with two terminals in San José del Cabo that handles domestic and cross-border connections through a runway about 3 kilometers (1.9 miles) in length. The two buildings share the grounds and each offer separate areas for arrivals and departures.
The airport opened in 1977 with a temporary tent terminal and later grew into a major transport hub for the peninsula. After Hurricane Odile in 2014, the facility closed and then underwent thorough modernization.
The terminal serves as an entry point for travelers coming to the region from North America. The building connects international arrivals with local traditions of the Baja Peninsula through shops and dining offerings inside.
Terminal 1 processes flights within Mexico, while Terminal 2 handles arrivals from abroad. Both areas provide access to ground transport and facilities for travelers.
Reconstruction after the 2014 storm took around 18 days before regular operations could resume. The renovation led to more modern facilities and improved infrastructure for air traffic.
