Eyipantla Falls, 50-meter waterfall in San Andrés Tuxtla, Mexico.

The white cascade of water plunges down a natural wall of dark rock, creating a constant mist that fills the surrounding area.

The waterfall received its name from the Nahuatl language, meaning 'three streams of water', and was considered sacred by indigenous populations.

Local communities maintain oral traditions about the falls, which they believe was the residence of Tlaloc, the ancient Mesoamerican rain deity.

Visitors can access the falls through a 244-step staircase leading to a lower viewing platform or observe from an upper observation deck.

The waterfall served as a filming location for major productions including Medicine Man in 1992 and Apocalypto in 2006.
