Sánchez Ramírez Province

Sánchez Ramírez Province occupies central Dominican territory and is divided into four municipalities led administratively by Cotuí. The remaining three municipalities—Cevicos, Fantino, and La Mata—make up the complete territorial structure of this province.

The territory separated from Duarte Province in 1952 to become its own administrative region. This change marked a major shift in how Dominican administration organized the nation's provinces.

The municipalities celebrate local traditions year-round through festivals featuring traditional music and dance rooted in Dominican customs. These gatherings bring together residents and showcase how regional identity shapes daily life and community bonds.
