María Trinidad Sánchez Province, Province in northeastern Dominican Republic

María Trinidad Sánchez Province extends along the Atlantic coast with an elevation of 27 meters, encompassing beaches, mangroves, and agricultural territories.

The territory was established in 1959 as Julia Molina Province and received its current name in 1961 to honor a female independence fighter.

The province maintains strong connections to fishing traditions, with local communities organizing regular fish markets and maritime celebrations throughout the year.

Four municipalities form the province - Nagua, Cabrera, El Factor, and Río San Juan - connected by a network of roads leading to Santo Domingo.

The Laguna Gri Gri in Río San Juan features underwater caves and mangrove tunnels where visitors navigate through natural water passages.
