Playa Dorada, Beachfront resort complex in Puerto Plata, Dominican Republic
The golden sand beach stretches for 1.9 kilometers along the Atlantic Ocean, connecting multiple resorts from Blue JackTar to the Munoz River mouth.
In 1980, JackTar Village Resort established the first footprint on this shore, marking the beginning of Dominican Republic tourism development in Puerto Plata.
The beach features numerous local restaurants serving fresh Dominican seafood dishes, including traditional preparations of pescado frito and tostones.
Visitors can access the beach through hotel properties, the Playa Dorada Beach Club, or public entry points located along the shoreline.
The beach integrates with an 18-hole golf course designed by Robert Trent Jones Sr., where five holes offer direct views of the Atlantic Ocean.
