Parrish is an unincorporated community in Manatee County, Florida, located roughly 30 kilometers north of Sarasota. The area spreads across agricultural and residential land with scattered homes and local shops concentrated mainly along US Route 301.
Parrish emerged as a small settlement during Florida's pioneer development era and grew slowly as a rural community. Throughout the 20th century, it maintained its character as an independent enclave while surrounding Manatee County developed.
The area is best explored by car since facilities are scattered along the road and public transportation is limited. Visitors should expect to be in a rural setting where many amenities are not within walking distance.
