Roger Dean Stadium opened in 1998 in Jupiter's Abacoa community; Cliff Politte threw the first pitch that spring. Through 2002 the Montreal Expos shared it with the Cardinals before the swap tied to Jeffrey Loria's purchase of the Marlins. Hurricanes Frances and Jeanne damaged it badly in 2004. In February 2022 it hosted lockout negotiations between MLB and the players' union.
