Akoya Condominiums, Residential skyscraper in North Beach, Miami Beach, US.
Akoya Condominiums is a residential tower in North Beach with 47 stories and 385 units spread across the structure. The apartments feature floor-to-ceiling windows overlooking Biscayne Bay and the Atlantic Ocean.
The tower was completed in 2004 after an initial concept known as White Diamond was sold to MerCo Group in 2001 by Brazilian businessman Múcio Athayde. This transaction led to the redesigned project that stands today.
The name draws from Japanese culture, evoking pearl oysters rather than following the diamond theme of nearby residential towers in the neighborhood. This choice reflects a different aesthetic vision for the building's identity.
The building features five elevators and a two-story lobby entrance for efficient movement throughout the structure. Short-term rentals are permitted with a minimum 30-day stay and a maximum of 12 rental periods annually.
The property includes tennis courts and racquetball facilities alongside oceanfront cabanas for residents to enjoy. These recreational amenities set the building apart from typical high-rises in the surrounding area.
