Miami Beach Bandshell

The Miami Beach Bandshell is an outdoor concert venue with a circular design and two entrance towers crowned by large cantilevered disk-shaped canopies located at Collins Avenue and 73rd Street. Its structure incorporates geometric forms and curved lines that shape both the stage and seating areas for performances.

The modernist shell was designed in 1961 by Norman Giller and exemplifies the Miami Modern architectural movement through its geometric shapes and curves. It remains the sole surviving structure among four similar entertainment buildings constructed in Miami Beach after World War II.

The venue hosted The Mike Douglas Show as its winter home during the 1970s, drawing performers like Jackie Gleason and Milton Berle to its stage. Today, visitors experience this cultural landmark as a gathering place that echoes its role in Miami's entertainment history.
