DeLand House Museum, Historical museum in DeLand, Florida
The DeLand House Museum is a Victorian residence that displays objects and documents from the history of western Volusia County. The building itself shows how people lived in this Florida region during the late 1800s and early 1900s.
Henry Addison DeLand built this house in 1886 as his family home. The city acquired it in 1988 and converted it into a museum to share local history with visitors.
The West Volusia Historical Society maintains collections of materials and documents that detail the development of the local community through different periods.
The museum is open Tuesday through Saturday, and staff members can answer questions about the exhibits and help guide you through the rooms. Groups are welcome to call ahead and arrange a visit that works with their schedule.
The museum complex includes the Burgess Pavilion, DeLand Memorial Hospital Exhibits, and the Robert M Conrad Educational Research Center for comprehensive historical research.
