Lake Helen Historic District, Historic district in Lake Helen, Florida, US.
The 350-acre district contains 71 historic buildings bounded by West New York, Lakeview, Park, and Euclid Avenues in central Florida.
The area originated in 1858 as Prevatt Settlement before Henry DeLand purchased 340 acres in 1883 and named the town after his daughter Helen.
Victorian, Mediterranean Revival, and Craftsman architectural styles represent different construction periods from late 1800s through early 1900s.
The Lake Helen Historical Museum, located in City Hall, displays local artifacts and operates in a former classroom of the 1916 elementary school.
Hopkins Hall, opened in 1897 with a Christmas Eve dance, functioned as a community center and library for 90 years until its restoration in 2007.
