Southern Cassadaga Spiritualist Camp Historic District

Southern Cassadaga Spiritualist Camp Historic District is a residential community with more than 60 historic wooden buildings from the late 1800s. These structures are spread across the grounds and create an authentic window into how people lived during that era.

The camp was founded in 1894 by George P. Colby, who sought to create a spiritual community after his own spiritual experiences. It became one of the first permanent settlements of its kind in Florida and grew into an important gathering place.

The community here centers on the belief that mediums can connect with spirits and offer spiritual guidance to visitors. This practice has shaped the daily rhythm and identity of the place for more than a century.

You can walk through the grounds and view the historic buildings, with many open for visitors to explore the interiors. There is a bookstore and community center where you can gather information about the place and what is happening.
