East Lake Golf Club, Private golf course in Atlanta, Georgia, US

East Lake Golf Club is a private 18-hole course about five miles east of downtown Atlanta, Georgia, and the city's oldest. The photo shows flat, even greens rising to a body of water, with a single red flag on a thin pole at the left edge and four people walking on the grass at the right. Donald Ross redesigned the layout in 1913 so each nine finishes at the clubhouse.

The Atlanta Athletic Club bought the East Lake property in 1904 and had Tom Bendelow lay out the course, which reached 18 holes in 1907. Donald Ross redesigned it in 1913, and a 1925 fire led to Philip Shutze's two-story Tudor clubhouse. Bobby Jones played his first and last rounds here and was club president in 1946–47.

The club's motto, "Golf with a Purpose", reflects that all profits go to the East Lake Foundation, which supports health, education, safety and productivity in the surrounding neighbourhood. The model inspired Purpose Built Communities, founded in 2009 and active in 14 US cities. Much of the clubhouse serves as a tribute to Bobby Jones.

The club is private, open to members and their guests; the general public reaches the grounds as spectators during the Tour Championship, held at East Lake since 1998 and its permanent home since 2004. The club sits about five miles (8 km) east of downtown Atlanta. The separate Charlie Yates course is a public 9-hole executive layout used for children's golf education.

The property includes a separate public 9-hole practice facility that offers golf instruction to local children. This second course is named after an amateur champion from the 1930s who trained here as a teenager.
