Primrose Cottage, Historic wedding venue in Roswell, United States
Primrose Cottage is a three-story mansion featuring a glass-enclosed Overlook Ballroom with views of surrounding forest and tiered English gardens. The property includes separate preparation spaces with a Bridal Suite and a brick-walled Groom's Room for hosting events.
Built in 1839 for Eliza King Hand, daughter of a town founder, the house was Roswell's first permanent private residence. It later became the home of George H. Camp, the town's first postmaster and manufacturing company president who acquired it in 1853.
The building displays construction methods from early 19th-century estates common in north Georgia, visible in its structure and materials today. This style reflects how wealthy families built their homes using local craftsmanship and resources during that period.
The property can accommodate up to 300 guests, making it suitable for events of varying sizes. Multiple rooms and outdoor areas allow flexible arrangements for different types of gatherings and celebrations.
The property played a role in the town's early industrial development through its owner's leadership at the local manufacturing company. This connection to industrial history adds another layer to its significance beyond being a 19th-century residence.
