Roswell Historic District

Roswell Historic District is a preserved area in Georgia featuring 19th-century buildings with Greek Revival and Late Georgian architectural styles. Multiple structures here include Mimosa Hall, Holly Hill, and the Old Mill, each marked with informational plaques describing their origins and purposes.

The area grew significantly in the 1830s when architect Willis Ball from Connecticut designed four major buildings. Later, the Roswell Mills industry shaped the region by drawing workers and expanding the community through the 19th century.

The town square here serves as a gathering place where residents and visitors come together for local events and celebrations throughout the year. The space reflects how the community values its shared heritage and keeps traditions alive.

Wear comfortable shoes, as exploring the district involves walking between several buildings spread across the area. The informational plaques at each location provide context, allowing visitors to explore independently at their own pace.

The Old Bricks worker housing and the Southern Mills building from 1882 tell the story of the area's industrial past. These structures reveal a different chapter of local history that existed alongside the grand estates.
