Sweat Mountain, Mountain summit in Cobb County, Georgia, US.
Sweat Mountain is a summit in northeastern Cobb County, Georgia, with an elevation of approximately 1,688 feet (515 meters) above sea level. The peak forms part of the Appalachian range and hosts multiple communication antennas on its highest point.
The mountain was owned by the Wigley family in the 1800s, with Henry Clay Wigley making his home at its base. A gravel road once connected his residence directly to the summit.
A notable music festival took place during the early 1970s at a lake situated at the mountain base, drawing numerous local participants.
The summit can be reached by hiking trails that lead to the highest point. Visitors should wear suitable footwear and stay clear of antenna structures at the top.
The mountain serves as a natural watershed divide separating the Chattahoochee River basin from the Lake Allatoona basin. This geographic function as a boundary line makes it significant for the region's water management.
