Coligny Beach Park

Coligny Beach Park sits along the Atlantic coast with a wide sandy beach, wooden boardwalks leading to the water, and several covered rest areas. Multiple entrance points make it easy to access this well-equipped beach area.

The park began developing in 1955 and grew together with the Coligny Plaza Shopping Center. Together they became the main recreational hub of the island.

The place serves as a meeting point where people gather for typical beach activities while local musicians play near the water. This creates a relaxed social rhythm throughout the day.

Free parking is available across the street, accessible from Pope Avenue before Coligny Circle. Those arriving on foot will find several wide entrances to the beach with plenty of room to navigate.

Beach matting runs from the boardwalk down to the water line, making this one of the few fully wheelchair-accessible beaches in South Carolina. This feature allows people with mobility challenges to enjoy the shoreline independently.
