Good Hope Baptist Church
Good Hope Baptist Church, Greek Revival Baptist church in Eastover, United States.
The church features a rectangular frame building with a front gable roof and a full height Greek Revival front portico along U.S. Route 378.
Built in 1857 by John McLauchlin, Good Hope Baptist Church began as a branch of Congaree Baptist Church, becoming independent in 1866 on land from James H. Seay.
The structure includes an original slave gallery and represents one of the few remaining antebellum churches in lower Richland County, South Carolina.
The church property extends over 1 acre near Sandhill Road and maintains an active congregation with regular services and a cemetery for members.
A frame addition constructed in 1950 on the north side preserved the original materials and proportions of the nineteenth-century structure.
