Muir Beach, Coastal nude beach in Marin County, United States.
The Pacific Ocean beach stretches 1,000 feet long and 200 feet wide, featuring coarse sand and multiple large boulders at the shoreline.
The location initially named Bello Beach became Muir Beach to benefit from the name recognition of the nearby Muir Woods National Monument.
The beach gained attention during the counterculture movement when it hosted the Third Acid Test event on December 11, 1965.
Visitors access the beach through a footbridge from the parking area, with six fire rings available from May to November and three from December to April.
Redwood Creek Lagoon behind the beach provides essential habitat for coho salmon and red-legged frogs, making this ecosystem particularly valuable.
