Palo Alto High School is a four-year institution serving grades 9 through 12 in the city of Palo Alto, California, near the Stanford campus. The grounds contain a mix of older brick structures and newer wings housing science labs, arts studios, and athletic fields.
The school opened in 1894 as a private venture and became a public institution four years later. The current site took shape in 1918 on land provided by Stanford University.
The Media Arts Center supports multiple student publications including The Campanile newspaper and C Magazine, fostering journalism education and creative expression.
The campus sits in central Palo Alto surrounded by residential streets, making it accessible by foot or bicycle from nearby neighborhoods. Access during school hours is controlled, and visitors must check in at the main office.
