Lover's Point Beach

Lover's Point Beach is a coastal recreation area protected by a concrete wall and breakwater that shield swimmers from northern winds. The grounds include a volleyball court, children's pool, concrete pier, restaurant, snack bar, and parking access near 17th Street.

Originally named 'Lovers of Jesus Point', the site began as a Methodist retreat community in the late 1800s. Over time, it transformed into a public recreation area accessible to everyone.

The location serves as a gathering place for weddings and summer celebrations in the community. People come here to mark special occasions and spend time together in this seaside setting.

The area is easy to access with parking available and multiple facilities on-site. The protected location makes it suitable for swimming, and visitors have room to explore the grounds and enjoy various activities.

The beach has a rare east-facing orientation, allowing visitors to watch the sun rise over the Pacific Ocean. This unusual feature on the West Coast offers a different experience than typical beaches in the region.
