Patriot

Patriot is a floorless steel roller coaster at Great America Park in Santa Clara that reaches 91 feet high with a track spanning 1,920 feet. The ride features a vertical loop, turnaround hill, helix, and corkscrew that flow continuously throughout the circuit.

The coaster opened in 1991 under a different name with a different configuration. It underwent a major rebuild in 2016 and reopened in 2017 with new floorless trains and updated track design.

The ride's name reflects a patriotic theme that shapes how visitors experience this part of the park. Guests encounter this identity throughout their journey on the track.

Riders must meet specific height requirements and should secure loose items since the ride lasts about two minutes. Multiple boarding stations and queue areas make it easy to find your way through the ride section.

The conversion from a stand-up ride to a floorless configuration was one of only a few such transformations in the amusement industry. The experience feels completely different despite the basic track layout remaining largely unchanged.
