Armour & Co. Building
Armour & Co. Building, National Register of Historic Places office building in San Francisco, US.
The Armour & Co. Building features three stories of brick construction with decorative cornices and arched windows at 1050 Battery Street.
The structure, completed in 1907, replaced an American Milling Company warehouse that was destroyed during the 1906 earthquake and fires.
The building exemplifies the industrial growth of San Francisco, serving as a meat processing facility with four smoke ovens on each floor.
The building underwent seismic upgrades in the 1970s to meet safety requirements and converted its loading docks into windows for modern use.
Former meat smoking ovens within the building have been transformed into conference rooms, storerooms, and restrooms to accommodate contemporary office needs.
